Print Shop Production Team Member

The Print Shop Production Team Member supports daily production inside South Forty’s in-house print shop, helping bring custom designs to life across a variety of products and materials. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, working directly with print equipment, production workflows, and finished goods. You’ll play a key role in maintaining quality, meeting deadlines, and supporting the creative and sales teams as orders move from concept to completion.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in detail-oriented work, and thrives in a collaborative production environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade-related education is a plus.
  • Prior experience in printing, production, manufacturing, or hands-on shop work preferred but not required.
  • Comfortable working with machinery, tools, and production equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Willingness to learn new equipment, processes, and software.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take on hands-on, physical work as needed.
  • Basic computer skills; experience with design or production software is a plus but not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate in-house print equipment including wide-format printers, direct-to-film (DTF) printers, directto-object printers, and heat presses.
  • Assist with preparing digital files for production, including sizing, layout checks, and basic color adjustments.
  • Support production runs from setup to finished product, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Perform basic equipment cleaning, upkeep, and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor print quality and flag issues before products move to the next stage.
  • Assist with inventory management, including counting, tracking, and purchasing apparel and products.
  • Help track and restock consumables such as inks, films, substrates, and blanks.
  • Work closely with the design, sales, and production teams to meet timelines and priorities.
  • Assist with trimming, finishing, packaging, labeling, and preparing orders for pickup, shipping, or events.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient print shop workspace.
  • Follow safety, quality, and production standards at all times.
  • Assist with production and operational duties as assigned.
